In 2019, after leaving a well-paid career as an established accounting professional working for Fortune corporations and accounting firms, I followed my dream to become a full-time entrepreneur.
Truthfully, I didn't know what I was going to do when I had the initial conversation with my boss. All I knew was my gut said leave. The inner voice got louder, and louder, until one day, after many restless nights and internal turmoil, I heard very clearly: Resign now!
Throughout my life, from my first job as a mechanic, serving in the US Navy during Desert Storm/Desert Shield, to my roles in the finance industry—what caused the most strain was the lack of good leadership.
